Sleep Dentistry

in Newmarket

Feeling anxious about going to the dentist is a very normal thing; you should not feel
ashamed if you feel scared. Many people suffer from anxiety or fear over going to the dentist,
and others have a low pain threshold and can’t handle much of what a dentist does during even
regular cleanings.

Here are a few of the many advantages to sleep dentistry

You can sleep through the duration of the dental appointment

It’s a great option for those whose mouths can’t freeze properly or those who have sensitive teeth

You are going to feel little to no discomfort during a long or complicated treatment

You don’t have to hear any of the dental equipment being used

You don’t have to strain your jaw by keeping it open yourself.

Sleep dentistry is here to allow you to relax while we take care of your smile!

If you or a loved one likes to know more about sleep dentistry and how it could help make your trip to the dentist more comfortable, give us a call today and ask our experts on what might be the right choice for you.

At Dentistry in Newmarket, we also provide a variety of sedation dentistry options, including:

1. Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas):

This type of sedation is light and can be adjusted as necessary to ensure you have full control over how relaxed you want to be. It is also the
only form of sedation that allows you to drive a motor vehicle after the procedure.

2. Oral Sedative:

A pill is either taken the night before your visit or an hour before the procedure. A deeper form of sedation is going to affect you before and after the visit, so you must arrange for transportation to and from the office.

3. IV Sedation:

This method allows for the deepest form of relaxation, but is not going to put you to sleep entirely, and we can adjust the levels of sedation as necessary. Most dental procedures need the patient to be able to answer questions and must be awake.

4. General Anesthesia:

Usually reserved for the most complex or invasive procedures, you are going to be rendered unconscious for the entire duration.
